Mr. Laibar Singh publically took sanctuary at Abbortsford Sahib Kalgidhar Darbar Gurudwara on July 7, 2007. Mr. Singh is a 48-year old Dalit Punjabi refugee claimant who came to Canada in 2003 and has been struggling for nearly four years to get refugee status. He has been through conditions that few of us imagine, let alone bear. Join us this Saturday to celebrate the courage of Mr. Singh and to demonstrate our ongoing support for him.

Mr. Laiber Singh is a refugee claimant from Punjab, India. He is due to be deported at 1:00 pm Sunday July 8th from the George Pearson Centre, a long-term care facility for people with severe disabilities. Federal government authorities have hired a private jet at a cost of over $70,000 to fly Mr. Singh to New Delhi.

Decision in John Graham’s appeal

The panel of three Judges that heard the appeal on May 27th will announce their decision on Tuesday, June 26th at 9:30 a.m. at the BC Supreme Court, 800 Smythe St., Vancouver, B.C. John must arrive at the court by 9:00 a.m.

John’s family will holding a prayer circle Tuesday morning June 26th at 8:00 a.m. (in private) and ask that all supporters join in prayer in their own way, wherever they may be, at the same time. All supporters able to be present in the court room to hear the decision are urged to attend.
