People’s History of Kanada Poster Project

An upcoming exciting ‘sneak preview’ of the People’s History of Canada/Kanada Posters…

The People’s History of Canada/Kanada Posters Project is a colloborative effort between eleven grassroots artists Afuwa Granger, Alex Mah, Ange Sterritt, Annie Banks, Elogyny Tharmendran, Kara Sievewright, Naomi Moyer, Tania Willard, Riel Manywounds, Setareh Mohammadi, Tyler Toews and No One is Illegal-Vancouver. A series of pieces will explore various moments of repression and resistance in Canadian history. The artists working on this Project come from a diversity of communities and almost all carry his/herstories and direct experiences of colonization and displacement that are being engaged within the Project.

Join us as we phone it to disrupt the economic profiteering of Bell Canada, one of the corporations that forms part of the North American Competitivenss Council (NACC). The NACC was launched as part of the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) in June 2006. It is the only formal advisory board to the SPP and is made up of 30 corporate leaders from Canada, the U.S. and Mexico with ten advisors from each of the SPP signatory states. The Canadian corporate membership of the NACC was appointed by Harper in 2006. The SPP is a NAFTA-plus-Homeland-Security model that has been negotiated in complete secrecy by Harper, Bush, and Calderon and their corporate supporters.
